Today, Cameco announced more than $1.8 million in funding for numerous community organizations serving Saskatchewan including:

• More than $700,000 raised through the Cameco Employee Giving Campaign - 300 Cameco employees donated to a charity of their choice with a matching donation from the company, resulting in support for 165 charitable organizations.

Cameco’s first trip to COP was an undeniable success. #COP28 provided a platform to show nuclear energy for what it is – a real solution to the climate crisis. Through the #netzeronuclear initiative alongside our industry colleagues, we made it clear that affordable, emissions-free baseload power is not only possible but necessary with nuclear.

Today at #COP28, Cameco Executive Vice-President and CFO Grant Isaac talked about the merits of nuclear power in a panel discussion for the Atlantic Council Global Energy Forum titled, “Forging a united energy security front ahead of Europe’s second winter of war”. The panel discussed what is needed to ensure an affordable and secure energy supply for Europe while maintaining momentum on the clean energy transition. #ACEnergyForum

Another amazing day for nuclear energy at #COP28. Cameco President and CEO Tim Gitzel attended the Sapporo 5 nuclear fuel collaboration pledge announcement today at the Net Zero Nuclear Summit, held as part of #COP28. This commitment brings together Canada, the United Kingdom, Japan, France and the United States with a shared goal of investing in the nuclear fuel infrastructure needed to triple nuclear energy capacity by 2050.

There were more productive discussions at #COP28 today as Cameco President and CEO Tim Gitzel met with His Excellency Fahad Saeed Al Raqbani, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Canada.

Tim also spoke on a panel about SMRs and sustainable nuclear power with His Excellency Mohamed Al Hammadi, Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation Managing Director and CEO, Saskatchewan Research Council President and CEO Mike Crabtree, and Westinghouse Electric Company Canada President Eddie Saab. #Cameco President and CEO Tim Gitzel was pleased to join Premier Scott Moe and Canada’s Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry François-Philippe Champagne for a fireside chat at the Saskatchewan pavilion today at #COP28. Their discussion highlighted how Saskatchewan companies like Cameco are supporting global sustainability and how Saskatchewan can ensure that nuclear energy is a pillar of prosperity around the world.

At #COP28, Cameco CEO and President Tim Gitzel and Executive Vice-President and CFO Grant Isaac attended the kick-off of the Saskatchewan pavilion and had a chance to connect with Saskatchewan Premier, Scott Moe, Westinghouse Electric Company CEO, Patrick Fragman and Saskatchewan Research Council President & CEO, Mike Crabtree.

This week, Cameco will be meeting with representatives from governments and utilities to share the benefits of pursuing emissions-free nuclear energy fueled by Saskatchewan uranium.
