All-women class highlights Cameco’s new trades training program. The demand for labour in the province’s mining sector is projected to grow by 35 per cent by 2034 and northern trade positions are already hard to fill. Cameco’s pilot project introduces students to a variety of skilled trades - before they commit to a career path. For the first classes being held in early 2025, all 10 students and one of the instructors are women. #nsk Learn more at https://ow.ly/CQ5A50Us29z

Stepping foot onto Cameco’s McArthur River mine site for the first time was a bit scary, Bailey Tinker says. However, she found it easy to get to know people and create work relationships and personal friendships. Tinker’s work experience placement is just one example of the benefits provided to northern Saskatchewan communities, including three First Nations and four municipalities, through our collaboration agreements. Since the first agreement was signed in 2012, Saskatchewan’s north has seen more than $1.6 billion invested locally.

Thank you to our employees in Saskatchewan and Ontario for their ongoing support of Cameco’s employee giving campaign. The company matched all employee donations, producing a grand total of $873,491 to benefit 152 charities chosen by employees. “The unwavering generosity of our employees fills me with awe every year,” said Cameco CEO Tim Gitzel. “Whether it’s through donations of time, money or both, our people continue to support the communities where we live and work. I couldn’t be prouder to be part of this team.”

Cameco is committed to a clean-air world. Last week, our team was pleased to be on hand with government and industry officials to celebrate the successes of the Saskatchewan Technology Fund. As one of 13 emission reductions projects in the province, transitioning to electric-powered drilling at our Cigar Lake mine will cut emissions by ~1,000 tonnes while creating jobs for Indigenous community members.

The future is nuclear. And nuclear needs future leaders. That’s why Cameco was pleased to participate in the World Nuclear University’s LEAD 24 program held earlier this week. Thank you for the opportunity! From a fireside chat with our CEO, Tim Gitzel and Dylan Bryngelson, our VP of Supply Chain Management, to tours of our Port Hope conversion and manufacturing facilities, Cameco welcomed all participants to further develop their knowledge of our industry.
