Cameco’s first trip to COP was an undeniable success. #COP28 provided a platform to show nuclear energy for what it is – a real solution to the climate crisis. Through the #netzeronuclear initiative alongside our industry colleagues, we made it clear that affordable, emissions-free baseload power is not only possible but necessary with nuclear. Cameco joined 120 global companies and industry organizations in signing the Net Zero Nuclear pledge committing to a goal of tripling nuclear capacity by 2050, echoing the declaration issued by governments representing 22 countries across four continents.

We were pleased to join Premier Scott Moe and the Saskatchewan delegation in sharing the resources, technology, and innovation our province provides for addressing climate change. Over the week, we made significant progress in speaking with governments, utilities, stakeholders, and potential customers about the importance of zero-emission nuclear energy powered by Saskatchewan uranium.

We came to #COP28 to help build a vision for a clean-air world, and we succeeded.
