2014 - Cameco Cares Concert
The Cameco Cares Concert Series, presented by CRUZ FM, is a four-year series of community concerts with 100 per cent of ticket proceeds supporting Saskatoon hospital foundations.
The series launched in style on July 30, 2014, as 3,000 people packed the Delta Bessborough Gardens to groove with Barenaked Ladies. The event raised $160,000 for Royal University Hospital Foundation.
“This year, more than 55,000 adults and children will arrive at Royal University Hospital, the critical care and trauma hospital for Saskatoon and northern and central Saskatchewan,” said Arla Gustafson, the foundation’s CEO. “Having the right equipment in place at the right time is critical for our physicians and emergency department medical teams. The Cameco Cares concert proceeds will support day-to-day patient care today and tomorrow.”
More than 40 Cameco employees lent their enthusiasm and expertise to the event as organizers and volunteers.
“We are so thankful for the volunteer support,” said Cameco’s community investment manager Jonathan Huntington, who co-chaired the event with Dorothy Slawinski. ”It is another example of how much our employees care about making a difference.”
Thank you as well to our media partner, CRUZ FM, the hard-working Delta Bessborough staff, Royal University Hospital Foundation and Credit Union Centre for their support. See you in 2015!
